What is the straight up and down body shape?

A pretty top is a rectangle gal’s friend!
If you have slim thighs and lovely long legs then wearing a long top may work for you, otherwise opt for tops that finish at the mid-section of the hips. These will create the illusion of a defined waist.
To draw attention to the shoulders and bust wear tops (or dresses) with embroidery or details around the décolletage. Try to avoid tops that feature patterning to waist area as the aim is to draw attention upwards and away from the waist.
Another effective way to draw the eye upwards (and towards your dazzling smile) is to wear tops that have a high neckline or halter neck. Halter neck tops can give the illusion of a bigger bust whilst also showing off your back. The halter draws the eye up from your boobs towards your neck and the shape of this style is very flattering for those with shoulder and hips that are the same width.
If you have small boobs and want to create the illusions that you’re packing some mini-melons, then you can totally do so with this sneaky trick. Create the illusion of bigger boobs by choosing tops that have detailing around the chest area.
Detailing could be something like ruching, pleating or pockets. Shoulder padding can also work well for you, don’t overdo it though as this can make you look top-heavy. Any sleeve length goes but 3/4 length sleeves can work best for you.

Define your body with strong block colors but don’t tuck in your tops (especially if you are short-waisted) as this can make you look shorter than you are.

The right jacket can make or break an outfit!
We love figure-hugging jacket styles that are single breasted. These work especially well for rectangle shapes if the jacket goes in at the waist.
Jackets with waist belts can work wonders for creating waist definition, especially if you tie the belt at your back!
If you want to avoid fridge-gate, aka. the boxy look then steer clear of double-breasted coats and jackets. Dresses for the straight body shape

Belts can make you or break you, just kidding…or are we?
As we talked about above, jackets with belts to the waist can work for you but where possible should be tied at the back to avoid making you look boxy.  Wrap styles both in dresses and tops are also best avoided by bananas/rectangles for the same reason.
If you want to wear a belt, go for a slim style and wear your belt low (i.e not at the waist) if you can, curve to the belt so that it sits at the waist but drops lower to the front.
From low to high, wear accessories such as brooches, scarves, necklaces and earrings and around your neckline to draw attention upwards. Everyone loves statement jewelry (or at least we do) and this is the perfect choice for the banana body shape.

Your straight up and down figure doesn&#039;t have to be difficult to dress! Here&#039;s our complete guide to the perfect shapes and styles to suit your rectangle body shape.

If you have a beautiful strawberry shape, you will have wider shoulders than your hips. Strawberry shapes tend to have a great bust and amazing legs, with a small hip to waist ratio – i.e. not much waist definition. When it comes to dressing the strawberry body type, the aim of the game is to balance your top half with your bottom half, making your body look more symmetrical while creating more definition for your waist and giving  the illusion of a curvier shape.
Also regularly referred to as the Inverted Triangle body type, the strawberry body shape has:

<li>A straight and squared shoulder line that is proportionately wider than the hips.</li>
<li>Large bust</li>
<li>Little definition between waist and hip</li>
<li>Flat hips and bottom</li>

When it comes to dressing well, it’s all about knowing your proportions and balancing them out. The aim of the game for the inverted triangle, or strawberry body shape is to even out the top and bottom and bring them into perfect alignment.
You can do this by either:
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;">Minimising the width of your top half</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;">Creating the illusion of width on your bottom half</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;">Defining your waist.</li>

What is the Strawberry Body Shape?

Wear dark colors on your top half as these will slim down your shoulder line, You should try to avoid shoulder pads or puffed sleeves as these will have to the opposite effect.
Try tops (or dresses) in a wrap style, these will draw the eye line down and away from the bust and shoulder area. Another style that works well for your body type are tops that go in at the waist and hug your curves or give the illusion of doing so.
The bardot (off the shoulder) neckline is super stylish right now, but this style can accentuate your broad shoulders, so some Strawberries prefer to not wear this style of top.
Peplum tops are also fabulous for your body type as they balance your shoulders and hips, giving the illusion of a fitted waist and curvy hips. Peplum tops are also good for big dinners – they can hide a multitude of dessert helpings!

Tops for the strawberry shape

Like the <a href="https://www.insyze.com/blog/top-tips-for-the-apple-body-shape/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">apple body shape</a> opt for single-breasted coats with sleek lines rather than double-breasted styles. Double-breasted coats and jackets as well as styles that have a lot of detail around the neck and top half (think epaulets, large collar, shoulder pads etc)  as they will emphasize your broad shoulders.
Structured and/or tailored jackets are not a good look on most strawberries, so wave that blazer goodbye. Instead, choose a waterfall jacket. They have a much softer look and guide the eye down and away from your top half.

Skater dresses or styles with a fuller/flared skirt are also a great style for your figure. The flare out style of these dresses helps to balance out your figure and even out your silhouette.

Bold, bright and patterns galore!! Whilst its a good idea to keep a plainer look to your top to diminish your broad shoulders patterns and bright or light colors are suggested, if not encouraged in trousers, skirts and shorts to balance out your silhouette.

The type of fabric that your trousers are made from can also add bulk and definition so why not try cord or tweed.
Fits that work well for you include flared, straight or wide-leg trousers and harem pants. Bonus points if your trousers have front pleating.
For jeans choose lighter washes such as stonewash or even colored denim in straight or flared fits as these will balance your shoulders.
